How to avoid making Free Poker Tournament players angry at the table

There are so many do’s and don’ts when playing in a free poker tournament. The one that gets me the most is when a player is playing every hand slow so that they can try to make money. It makes the game boring and I do not like to play against players who do this.

Now another bad thing to do is act out of turn (fold, call, raise) before it is your turn. This can effect your opponent’s decisions.

Also do not ever discuss your hand you folded or have during the hand.

Criticizing another player is also a big ‘no no’. Using abusive language is not polite and isn’t necessary.

Doing any of these can make players mad and get you penalties in live play.

Now there is nothing wrong with playing weak hands or showing a bluff to set an opponent off. Doing this might affect their game in a good way for your self. It might make them play weaker hands or force them to pay you off on bigger hands.

If you are playing against a professional, they take note of everything you have done to them in previous hands and calculate their position based on this . So remember betting patterns against certain players when you bluff or on a big hand.

Repeating these processes will not make it easy for them to decipher weather you are bluffing or playing the nuts (best hand possible). This will help you in your progression through the field.

Getting caught bluffing is not always a bad thing. This can help you win bigger pots later on. I always try to get caught in a small bluff early in tournaments when blinds are not that high and my stack won’t be too affected by doing so.

I hope that my free poker tournament tips have helped you out, and remember, whether you win or lose do it with dignity.
